How to hook up SCV to your TV

To connect directly to your cable ready television:
| 1. |
You will need enough cable wire to run from the wall to the back of the TV. |
| 2. |
Locate the cable outlet on the wall. |
| 3. |
Connect one end of the wire to the connection on the wall.

Note: Make sure the wire is screwed on straight and is finger tight. Do not use a wrench or pliers to connect the wire. |
| 4. |
Connect the other end to the "In" on the back of your TV.
Note: Make sure the wire is screwed on straight and is finger tight. Do not use a wrench or pliers to connect the wire. |
| 5. |
Refer to the TV's manual to program the TV for standard cable. The button may be listed as: program, set-up, menu, memory, etc. |
Note: If you get channels 2-13 only, your TV is not properly programmed. Consult your manual.
To connect through a VCR or convertor box:
(Non-cable-ready TV's will need either a VCR or Convertor box and a transformer)
| 1. |
You will need enough cable wire to run from the wall to the back of the VCR or convertor box.
You will need a second smaller wire to run from the VCR to the TV. |
| 2. |
Locate the cable outlet on the wall. |
| 3. |
Connect one end of the wire to the connection on the wall.
Note: Make sure the wire is screwed on straight and is finger tight. Do not use a wrench or pliers to connect the wire. |
| 4. |
Connect the other end to the "In" on the back of your Convertor box or VCR.
Note: Make sure the wire is screwed on straight and is finger tight. Do not use a wrench or pliers to connect the wire. |
| 5. |
Refer to the VCR's manual to program it for standard cable. The button may be listed as: program, set-up, menu, memory, etc. |
| 6. |
Connect the second wire from the "Out" on the VCR/Convertor box to the "In" on the TV. |
| 7. |
Set the TV to channel 3 or 4. Refer to the TV 's manual. There may also be a switch on the back of the TV to select 3 or 4. |
| 8. |
If the TV is not cable-ready connect the wire to a transformer. Then connect the transformer to the VHS & UHF connections on the TV.

|
| Program the TV |
| 1. |
Once the television is connected to cable you will need to program your television for Standard Cable. |
| 2. |
Since each television is different refer to your TV or VCR User Manual. (Many manufacturer's have user manuals on their company web sites available in downloadable files.) |
| 3. |
Most TVs or VCRs will be programmed using your remote control. If you do not have access to a manual, look for a button labeled "Setup", "Program" or "Menu". |
| 4. |
Next you should be given an on-screen menu. Again every television will be different. Look for "Channel Setup", "Cable Mode" or possibly "Auto Programming". |
| 5. |
Most TVs will begin scanning through all the available channels. When complete you should receive over 70 channels. |
| 6. |
